An investment in knowledge
CASE V will once again provide a valuable conference
Dec. 12-14, 2010
Sheraton Chicago Hotel
and Towers
Melanie Harmon, 2010 Conference Chair
Life-long learning. Continuous improvement. Professional development. No matter how we coin it, it is an essential part of our personal and professional growth — and one we must continue to invest in.
CASE V, I-CASE, Indiana University Fundraising School, and the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University are all organizations I continue to value and support. Each, in their own way, has allowed me to stay abreast of the latest trends in our profession, build a professional network with people who work in the same profession, sharpen old and learn new skills, hear from and converse with leading experts in the industry, and have the opportunity to hear firsthand about changes on the horizon that could impact how we do our work. The CASE V conference offers all of these benefits — and more.
For 36 years, CASE V has been committed to your professional development needs. This year is no different!
The conference committee has been working diligently to plan a high quality conference. I hope you will take time to read in this issue of Advance about the new and exciting changes to our programming schedule, session highlights, and our featured keynote speaker Jim Kane who will speak on the topic of loyalty.
CASE President John Lippincott will share an in-depth report about the state of our profession at the closing Grand Luncheon on Tuesday where we also will recognize our Pride of CASE V awards and announce the winner of the 2010 Chief Executive Leadership Award.
May we continue to take pride in the strength of our district – its level of expertise, award-winning programs and stellar speakers – and be grateful for the many sponsors and educational partners who support us.
One of the founding fathers of philanthropy Benjamin Franklin once said, “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” On behalf of the board and conference planning committee, I invite you to invest in the 36th Annual CASE V Conference Dec. 12 –14 at the Chicago Sheraton Hotel and Towers. I guarantee the return will be positive.

Melanie Harmon
