Participants will discover why and how to establish an alumni association, with a special look at community colleges. Some research on best practices will be provided. The presenter will provide nuts and bolts, including definitions and methods, for creating a successful alumni association at a two year college. Hint: The key ingredients are a passionate alumnus and a supportive CEO!

Building and Maintaining a Successful Scholarship Program

While there are many fundraising opportunities available to donors, the scholarship program is the backbone of most community colleges. The ICC Educational Foundation administers more than 800 scholarships annually; an increase from 200 eight years ago. From donor recruitment and retention, to the dramatic changes in the application process to the ethical process of choosing the recipient, this session will run the gambit of the scholarship program.
