COE Fellowship Luncheon
Monday, Dec. 10, 12:15-1:45 p.m.
The annual COE luncheon will feature panelists Charlotte Johnson, vice president and dean of the College at Colgate University and Samuel Hancock, assistant to the president for Institutional Diversity at the University of Toledo. Both panelists have many years of experience in diversity related subject matter. Johnson, while working at the University of Michigan Law School, served on the core teams responsible for developing legal and communication strategies in defense of the university’s admissions policies. She assisted with formulation of oral arguments to the Supreme Court. Get enriched by diversity at the annual COE Luncheon. In addition, we’ll honor one CASE V colleague with the Outstanding Commitment to Professional Development Award.

In 2006 Joliet Junior College, the country’s oldest community college, hired its first female president, Eugenia (Gena) Proulx. Proulx came to Illinois with a clear vision and a plan for the future. Through the interview process, she identified missing links between the college’s board of trustees and the college’s foundation board as it related to the support and management of residential students. In addition, she sensed a lack of fundraising attitudes on the part of the college’s leadership team, faculty and staff. Hear how this new president was successful in building on her resources to strengthen her advancement program.
