The Top 10 Tips for Saving money
while in Chicago
- Eat breakfast in the Resource Center Monday and
Tuesday. It’s
FREE! You'll enjoy complimentary bagels, pastries, coffee and juice.
- Enjoy
refreshing snacks in the Resource Center during breaks for FREE! While
there, don’t forget to visit the vendors in the Resource
Center. You'll not only see the latest in helpful advertising ideas,
you can register for door prizes!
- Eat a light, low-cost lunch. Visit
the deli on the first floor of the NBC Tower across the street. Take
a short hike to the Billy
Goat
Tavern, 430 N. Michigan Ave., made famous by NBC’s “Saturday
Night Live” for a cheeseburger and chips (no fries, chips!)
- Forget
the cab! Ride a trolley for FREE! Trolleys run from State Street to
Navy Pier — and points in between. Better yet, walk!
- Enjoy yourself
at dinner. There are plenty of reasonable restaurants within walking
distance — see the Hospitality desk on the 5th
floor.
- Don't use the phone in your room to call home! There's a charge
for every call made, plus high long distance rates. Instead, use a
pay phone
(found on all levels where sessions are held and on the Lobby Level)
and use a phone card. Don't waste your money on long distance fees
to get online. Check your e-mail from the cyber center in the Resource
Center
for FREE!
- Use the hotel's fitness center for FREE!
- Enjoy the beautiful Christmas
lights and holiday decorations on Michigan Avenue for FREE! Enjoy the
walk and the fresh, brisk winter
air.
- Take in Tuesday's Grand Luncheon for FREE! It's open to all full
conference registrants at no charge!
- Take part in Sunday’s major
receptions. The first is part of the CASE V Opening Extravaganza where
free wine and beverages will
be
available in the Resource Center. Then, head back downstairs for some
great music and a cash bar.
