Past, future play a role in this year’s
conference
December 12-14, 2004
Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Chicago, Illinois
The
year was 1974. President Nixon resigned. People magazine debuted,
with Mia Farrow gracing the cover. And alumni, communication
and development
professionals from college campuses across the country debuted a
new professional association too: CASE.
Thirty years later, democracy is still
alive. People thrives (and so does Mia Farrow following her
breakup with Woody Allen). And the Council
for Advancement of Support and Education has expanded internationally.
Regionally, the CASE V conference remains the international organization’s
most popular conference with its nearly 1,700 participants and cutting-edge
programming. Highlights of this year's conference include:
- A new Web and Online Marketing emphasis. Back
in 1974, the electric typewriter was top-of-the-line technology.
But, the Web rules in 2004.
That’s why it will have
its own series of sessions beginning this year. The new “Web and
Online Marketing” emphasis
will add nearly a dozen sessions, with topics to include: internet marketing
strategy, e-mail marketing, blogs, Web sites for alumni and more.
- Collaborations with Association of Student
Alumni Professionals (ASAP) District V. The ASAP leader
on the conference committee is bringing a student
flavor
to some programming! Check
out the sessions and see that students are involved in leading and
participating
in sessions.
- Traditional sessions you've known and loved. We’ll have the
emphasis areas popular 30 years ago — alumni,
development, communications, senior professionals, management and two-year/independent
schools. (Only, they’ll cover the issues of 2004.)
- The Pride of CASE V. We’ll
close the conference with the district’s first-ever
awards presentation, complete with Chicago’s popular comedy
troupe — The Second City!
CASE V programming has been great in
the past — and you can expect
only more in the future. That’s why we’re “Treasuring
our past ... mapping our future.” Once again, it’s the
conference you don’t want to miss.
See you in Chicago!
