The Pride of CASE V Awards Program
FAQs for entrants
What type of payment do you accept?
We accept payment by credit card or check. All those submitting entries must complete the online payment form. Payments received after the July 15 deadline will disqualify the entry.
I entered several items in the CASE Circle of Excellence Awards Program at the national level. Can I enter the same things in the Pride of CASE V Awards Program?
Yes. The two programs are not connected. Pride of CASE V is a district-level program that puts you in competition with colleagues from CASE V institutions in the Midwest. The Circle of Excellence program is a national program. Keep in mind that different judging panels are used for the two programs, so results will likely vary.
Can I submit the same project or item in more than one category?
Yes. If your entry falls within the scope of more than one category, you may choose to submit it in more than once. You will need to pay entry fees for each category entered and supply appropriate entry information and copies to the respective judging coordinators. For example, virtually any entry in any category would be eligible for consideration under the Best Practices categories.
What if a category asks for one representative item from a project but there are many? Can I send more or less than what the category asks for?
No. Read and follow the instructions for your category closely.
Can the work of freelancers be entered?
It depends on the category. Again, read and follow the instructions for your category closely. Take note of the categories that do not allow the work of freelancers.
The entry information indicates the competition is for work completed primarily between June 30, 2008, and July 1, 2009. What if my project extends beyond this time frame or started earlier?
You may enter it in the year that encompasses the majority of the work. This guideline was established only to prevent repeat entries in subsequent years.
Who will judge the entries?
The judging coordinators are all advancement professionals from outside of the CASE V district. Each coordinator pulls together a group of three to five colleagues to judge the assigned category. Some judging coordinators recruit professionals from outside of education whose knowledge of the category would be helpful.
What if my entry materials reach the judging coordinator after the July 15 entry deadline?
Late entries will be disqualified.
When will the winners be notified?
Winners will be notified by mid-October 2009.
What will award winners receive?
Winners at the Gold level will receive a trophy and certificate; winners at the Silver and Bronze levels will receive a certificate.
When do we receive the awards?
Awards will be presented at the closing luncheon of the 2009 CASE V District Conference at the Sheraton Hotel in Chicago, Ill., on Dec. 15, 2009.
Can we order extra awards?
Yes. Information about ordering extra awards will be posted on the CASE V Web site after the December conference.
