"Paradigm Shift," a large, stainless steel outdoor sculpture was installed March 27, 2006 at Sinclair Community College (Dayton, Ohio). The 23-foot high by 4-foot wide sculpture weighs approximately 2,000 pounds. It sits in front of the 75,000 square-foot John E. Moore, Sr. Technology Center which houses Sinclair's Automotive Technology, Fire Science Technology, Safety Engineering Technology, and Environmental Engineering Technology programs. According to the artist, the theme of the sculpture is the "continuum of life," the cycle of being, action, flow through time, and time itself. The vortex design of the sculpture is reminiscent of the fluid dynamic of the vortex as seen in a large fire, or in water or in a tree trunk. The sculpture can be seen by some of the more than 100,000 passersby along I-75 each day.
