Lawrence Technological University quadrangle

Lawrence Technological University's (Southfield, Mich.) redeveloped and environmentally innovative campus quadrangle was dedicated Sept. 8, 2006. The quad includes a bioswale that filters water collected on the sedum-covered roof of the adjacent A. Alfred Taubman Student Services Center (left). Eighty-eight geothermal wells sunk 300 feet under the quad cycle water utilized to heat and cool the building, which has no gas meter. The $14.9 million Taubman Center and quad project are part of Lawrence Tech's capital campaign that concluded in June 2006 after raising more than $46 million.
