Red Skelton Performing Arts Center

The 63,000-square-foot Red Skelton Performing Arts Center at Vincennes (Ind.) University was dedicated Feb. 24, 2006. Its theatre features European opera-house style seating for more than 800. The $16.8 million Skelton Center is located one block from Skelton's birthplace. The center was the site of a Red Skelton Festival last summer, which featured The Smothers Brothers, Skelton impersonator Tom Mullica, and Vincennes University alumni performers.

Case V selects Pride of Case V recipients

Forty-nine educational institutions were honored as part of the 2006 Pride of CASE V Awards Program conducted by the Great Lakes District of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

The district awards competition honored advancement professionals in 43 categories for their alumni relations, fundraising and communications and marketing efforts. Judging for the competition is conducted by advancement professionals at institutions outside of the Great Lakes District. The CASE V Great Lakes District includes more than 400 member institutions, primarily from Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The awards were distributed at the December 12th Grand Luncheon at the close of the 2006 CASE District V Conference in Chicago. District V annually conducts the largest CASE conference in the country, attracting nearly 2,000 advancement professionals from educational institutions throughout the Midwest.

The deadline for the 2007 Pride of CASE V Awards Program will be Monday, July 16. Information on categories and instructions on entering will be posted on the CASE V website in April.
