About CASE V
Barb Todd, Chair
During the CASE District V Conference this past December, I could not help but think back on the words spoken by one of my professional mentors when she accepted the CASE V Distinguished Service Award in the early 1990s. She told the hundreds of alumni, development, and communication professionals in the room to say “yes” when asked to serve CASE.
She was right. My service to the Council for Advancement and Support of Education through District V is a rewarding experience. I have gained professional knowledge that I use at Illinois State University, personal growth that I can apply to both my professional and personal lives, and a strong network of colleagues and friends who will remain with me throughout my lifetime. CASE service has and will continue to pay me huge dividends.
Please know that the CASE V volunteers are committed to providing advancement professionals opportunities to enhance their knowledge, increase their networks, and recognize their successes.
Our members can benefit from the annual conference held in December in Chicago that is the largest CASE gathering in the world; mini conference programming that provides one-day focused discussions; an awards process to recognize outstanding programs, services, and publications throughout the district; an opportunity to become or be paired with a career mentor; a monthly electronic newsletter as well as a quarterly print newsletter to keep you informed and connected; scholarships and awards for students, minority professionals, and those new to our profession; and a strong connection to our student colleagues through the Association of Student Advancement Programs. In addition, this Web site is designed to share information on these services and programs. Check it frequently to see what is new.
I am honored to have the opportunity to serve you as Chair of the CASE V board of directors. Please feel free to contact with me your comments, ideas, and suggestions. This is YOUR district; I look forward to meeting and assisting you.
Thank you,

about case v
The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) is an international association of education advancement officers, who include alumni administrators, fund raisers, public relations managers, publications editors, and government relations officers. The ultimate goal of advancement professionals is to enhance their institutions by bringing in support — be it in the form of money, alumni loyalty, public esteem, or new students. In turn, CASE's purpose is to help these people advance the cause of education. It does this by offering information resources and training opportunities to aid its members.
CASE District V includes members from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin.
